Make the turn like Johan Cruyff
If you’re a real football fan, you’ll have heard of the Cruyff Turn. Johan Cruyff was a great player but a terrible smoker. “Football gave me everything in this life’ he said. ‘Tobacco almost took it all away.” He had a heart attack at 45 but didn’t quit smoking till double heart bypass surgery at the age of 55. If smoking can ruin the health of one of the greatest sportsmen ever, it’s time for every man to kick tobacco and quit smoking. Get some support. Patches, gum, mouthspray, even lollipops like Johan. These can be your 12th man on the park. To quit smoking is hard, but you can make that turn too.
Johan Cruyff was one of the greatest players ever to grace a football field. He was central to the development of Total Football in the 70s, helping make the Dutch team a force in world football.
At the 1974 World Cup, he invented the move you’ve seen a million times since – the famous Cruyff Turn. He won the Golden Ball award as the best player of the tournament.
